The Interactive Designer is responsible for creating dynamic, engaging, and interactive digital experiences for web-based platforms. This role focuses on motion design, interactive storytelling, and data visualization, leveraging tools like Ceros to craft compelling animations, transitions, and user-centered interactions. The Interactive Designer will play a key role in bringing websites to life, ensuring they are not only visually stunning but also intuitive and engaging for users. As part of the digital design team, the Interactive Designer collaborates with designers, developers, and content strategists to transform concepts into interactive experiences that align with Gallagher’s brand and business goals. This role requires a passion for motion design, a strong understanding of user behavior, and the ability to create experiences that captivate and delight.
How you'll make an impact
Interactive Design
- Design and implement interactive experiences for web-based platforms, ensuring they align with brand guidelines and enhance user engagement
- Create animations, transitions, and micro-interactions that bring designs to life and improve usability
- Prototype interactive elements and motion behaviors using tools such as Ceros and Figma
- Define and document reusable motion patterns and interactive components for scalability
Data Visualization & Information Design
- Bring data to life by designing interactive charts, graphs, and visualizations that communicate complex information clearly and effectively
- Leverage tools like Ceros to create engaging, interactive data-driven assets for websites
- Ensure data visualizations are both visually compelling and aligned with brand color guidelines and accessibility standards
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of color theory and the ability to apply brand colors thoughtfully to enhance clarity and engagement
Visual Storytelling
- Develop high-quality, responsive designs for websites across Gallagher’s brands and customer segments
- Translate wireframes and concepts into polished, interactive layouts that are visually compelling and user-friendly
- Ensure designs are consistent across breakpoints, platforms, and devices
Collaboration & Iteration
- Partner with designers, developers, and content strategists to align on project goals and iterate on solutions
- Participate in design reviews to ensure alignment and quality
- Foster a culture of collaboration, creativity, and attention to detail within the design team
Quality Assurance & Optimization
- Ensure the quality of interactive and motion designs during implementation and QA processes
- Maintain high standards for accessibility, responsiveness, and performance in all interactive designs
- Continuously refine and evolve motion, interaction, and data visualization patterns based on user feedback and analytics
About you
- 3–5 years of experience in interactive design, motion design, or a related field, with a strong focus on web-based experiences
- Proficiency in motion design tools such as Ceros and Figma, with the ability to prototype and deliver interactive experiences
- Experience designing interactive data visualizations, charts, and graphs, with a strong ability to communicate complex information visually
- Strong understanding of and web design best practices and accessibility standards
- Demonstrated expertise in creating animations, transitions, and interactive states that enhance usability and engagement
- Strong understanding of color theory and the ability to apply brand color guidelines effectively in designs
- Experience working collaboratively in cross-functional teams, including designers, developers, and content strategists
Additional Desirable Skills:
- Familiarity with HTML/CSS/JS and front-end development workflows
- Experience contributing to a design system
- Knowledge of UX principles and usability best practices
- Experience working in Agile or iterative delivery environments
