Get to Know the Role
This is a 6 months full-time onsite role based in Singapore as part of the GRIT Programme.
By joining the Omnicommerce sales team, you will acquire and grow Grab's merchant network, bringing even more exciting brands, value, and options to eaters in Singapore.
The Critical Tasks You Will Perform
- You will proactively prospect and pitch to potential merchant leads to onboard them to Grab.
- You will own the end-to-end onboarding journey, ensuring merchant activation and engagement.
- Stay up to date with market trends and competitor movements to help shape strategies that address market shifts and evolving merchant needs.
- Develop a strong understanding of Grab's suite of products and services to promote them to merchants.
- Manage daily merchant inquiries—both commercial and operational—to ensure a smooth onboarding experience and seamless post-onboarding support.
What Essential Skills You Will Need
- Education: Diploma or Bachelor's in Business, Communications, Marketing, or Hospitality; other disciplines welcome with demonstrated interest in commercial/sales
- Stakeholder management: Ability to build rapport with stakeholders; handle objections; follow through on commitments and close the loop.
- Problem solving and commercial acumen: Identify merchant needs, craft value/Return on investment propositions, and recommend fit‑for‑purpose solutions
- F&B tech interest: Curious about how digital solutions drive restaurant growth
- You have experience engaging with AI tools and emerging technologies to enhance productivity, improve workflows, and contribute new ideas.
Technical Skills and Competencies Trainee will learn during the traineeship:
- Sales: Learn to prospect, pitch, and manage merchant relationships from onboarding through to post-onboarding engagement.
- Market and Competitive Analysis: Gain skills in monitoring industry trends and competitor activity to inform go-to-market strategies and merchant solutions.
- Product Knowledge and Operational Support: Develop a strong understanding of Grab's product ecosystem and learn to handle operational and commercial queries effectively.
