eero is seeking a WiFi Test Engineer to join our dynamic team and contribute to our testing efforts to ensure the smooth functioning of our platform. As a WiFi Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in building test cases, validating software releases, and ensuring an exceptional connectivity experience for customers. You will collaborate closely with development teams to identify and troubleshoot issues, ultimately enhancing the quality and reliability of our products.

Key job responsibilities
- Develop test plans for eero's whole home WiFi products
- Define, implement WiFi test cases and support automation
- Develop ad hoc tests to support engineering debug
- Drive decisions about testing improvements
- Drive projects from start to finish and guide team members
- Interface with software, TPM, vendors and management teams
- Execute WiFi test plans
- Report test results and plan status
- Review specs for FCC/ETSI regulatory compliance tests such as DFS, Adaptivity, CBP
- Write detailed bug reports for engineering team
- Support distributed development and QA teams

Export Control Requirement:

A day in the life
The WiFi testing team is a lean team working on multiple aspects of the WiFi stack from integration, mac layer functionality, routing & networking to host layer application level validation to improve the user experience of our mesh solutions. You will be working in a fast paced environment and directly interacting with cross-functional teams and different stakeholders to drive decisions about the product.

The WiFi team in eero provides the most secure, fast, reliable and complete WiFi router system to our customers. We innovate on behalf of our customers. The team members are working closely to provide the best customer experience. WiFi team owns from design & development to quality assurance with dedicated WiFi labs.

Basic Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics or equivalent
- 1+ years of development/programming/scripting language (Python/Bash) experience
- 3+ Experience in manual testing
- 3+ years of experience in maintaining & scaling up WiFi test labs
- 3+ years of experience 802.11(ac/ax/be), Ethernet, Networking (DHCP, DNS, ARP, ICMP)
- 3+ years of experience on installations of OS (linux/mac/windows)

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience managing large-scale projects from end to end
- Bachelor's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields
- Experience working in a fast-paced environment similar to a high-tech start-up
- Experience working with REST API based services, or experience in software development and experience in Ubuntu/Solaris
- Experience and proven troubleshooting skills, specifically in the Wi-Fi, switch and router areas
- Experience with embedded firmware testing
- Excellent understanding of 802.11 MAC & PHY layer functionality
