Jump launched our India office in 2019, expanding our footprint in the dynamic Asia market. Working in the India office has the feel of a small start-up with the benefits of being part of one of the leading quantitative trading firms in the World. As part of the elite Asia team, you will work collaboratively with colleagues of diverse backgrounds, all focused on creating innovative solutions that position the firm for the future.

We’re hiring a Trading Research Analyst within Jump's Centralized Trading team. This role combines live trading support and market research: you’ll help monitor trades and execution processes while producing market and performance analysis that informs trading decisions. This is a generalist role suited to candidates with a strong attention to detail, good market knowledge, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

• Monitor live orders, executions, positions, P&L and risk limits during market hours; promptly flagging and escalating issues to the appropriate team

• Triage order rejects, breaks, and system incidents; coordinate rapid resolution with traders, operations, engineering and brokers

• Produce regular market summaries and ad hoc research; track news, macro/corporate events, sentiment, and catalysts, turning insights into actionable ideas

• Provide traders with market context, trade ideas, and impact assessments for events such as earnings and corporate actions

• Communicate clearly across teams; document processes and production issues to ensure transparency and continuity

• Prepare daily reports and commentary on themes relevant to trading strategies; maintain depth of knowledge on the Indian market structure, economy, and political landscape

• Build and maintain datasets, dashboards, and automated reports to support trading and research needs; perform routine data validation and reconciliation

• Run ad-hoc queries and basic analyses (Excel, SQL, or scripting) to answer data requests, validate hypotheses, and inform trade decisions

•  Other duties as assigned or needed

Skills You’ll Need:

• At least 3 years of relevant experience in trading operations, execution support, market research or data analysis

• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Finance, Economics, STEM, or related field

• National Institute of Securities Markets (NISM) certification: NISM-Series XVI or MCX MCCP Certification

• Strong attention to detail, ability to prioritize under pressure, and effective written/verbal communication

• Comfortable working in shifts or during market hours

• Familiarity with multiple asset classes (equities, futures, options) and basic derivatives concepts

• Basic scripting or data skills (Python, SQL) for analysis and reporting

• Reliable and predictable availability

About the company

Jump Trading

Company overview
Jump Trading is a proprietary trading firm focused on quantitative research, trading, and building low-latency systems and tools that support global market activity. Jump Trading hires across trading, quant research, AI/ML research, software engineering, and infrastructure roles that sit close to production systems. Jump Trading operates as a private company and recruits heavily through campus channels for internship and new-grad pipelines. Work is typically highly technical and performance-driven, with a culture that emphasizes ownership and fast learning.

Locations and presence

Jump Trading is headquartered in Chicago and lists additional offices across major global finance and tech hubs, including locations such as New York, London, Singapore, and others. Early-career roles are usually tied to specific offices, and campus recruiting often funnels into on-site interview loops in key hubs.

Palpable Score

77.6
/ 100
Jump Trading provides strong early-career access for technical candidates through recurring campus internships and new-grad hiring across quant, research, and engineering tracks. Learning support and pay are standout strengths, but hiring transparency is capped by demanding assessments and limited published expectations on timelines and feedback. Early-career outcomes look positive in sentiment and progression signals, yet Jump Trading does not publish cohort-level conversion, promotion, or retention metrics.
