What will you be doing?
Barclays Services LLC seeks Software Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):
- Work closely with a Product Owner to understand the business requirement and prepare high level tasks for design and development.
- Design and develop the solution for scalable, high-volume performing cloud based micro service APIs (Application Programming Interfaces), using JAVA based Spring-boot framework for backend, and HTML-CSS for front-end and JSON, XML for databinding.
- Integrate APIs with MySQL, MongoDB databases using JPA and hibernate frameworks after discussions with solution architects and principal engineers.
- Work closely with the operations and production support engineers to enhance the performance of APIs with minimal manual intervention.
- Produce high quality code, which is unit tested, reviewed with CSO team to strictly adhere the agile test principles of Test-Driven Development (TDD), Pair Programming and Business Driven Development (BDD), using Postman, SOAP-Ui and Swagger.
- Build, package, and deploy the application, MVC services and automated Spring batches into OpenShift aPaaS and integrate continuously with Jenkins pipeline.
- Design environmental pipeline setup with various components like Junit testing, SonarQube code scanning, continuous testing using cucumber, Continuous Integration (CI) and technology upgrade from lower to higher version and fix Veracode security and Prisma dependency vulnerabilities.
- Debug the production and QA issues, using esaas logging to identify the root cause, and provide technical solution to the problems.
Minimum Salary: $131,997 per year
Maximum Salary: $145,197 per year
The minimum and maximum salary/rate information above includes only base salary or base hourly rate. It does not include any other type of compensation or benefits that may be available.

- Development and delivery of high-quality software solutions by using industry aligned programming languages, frameworks, and tools. Ensuring that code is scalable, maintainable, and optimized for performance.
- Cross-functional collaboration with product managers, designers, and other engineers to define software requirements, devise solution strategies, and ensure seamless integration and alignment with business objectives.
- Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
- Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations and actively contribute to the organization’s technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
- Adherence to secure coding practices to mitigate vulnerabilities, protect sensitive data, and ensure secure software solutions.
- Implementation of effective unit testing practices to ensure proper code design, readability, and reliability.
