Job title: Software / Data Engineer - Migrations

Location: Paris, France

Salary: €46,200 - €55,000

Team: Client Engineering

Reporting To: Software Engineering Manager

Kaluza reimagines energy to bring net-zero within everyone’s reach. Our intelligent platform enables energy utilities to unlock the full value of a radically changing energy system and propel us to a future where renewable energy is sustainable, affordable and accessible for all.

From automating and simplifying core operations including billing to create a lower-cost, higher-engagement experience, to optimising energy usage across smart devices in the home, we turn tough challenges into win-win-win outcomes for customers, suppliers and the energy system.

At Kaluza we embrace a flexible, hybrid work model that balances autonomy with the power of in-person connection. Many of our teams find value in coming together regularly to collaborate, strengthen relationships, and accelerate progress. We’re focused on shaping thoughtful, team-driven approaches that support both business impact and individual well-being.

We also prioritise meaningful company-wide gatherings like our annual conference and end-of-year celebrations, that bring us together to align, connect, and celebrate.

What will I be doing?

You will be focused on a domain within our Client Engineering function, building out tools to support migrations of accounts from legacy systems to the Kaluza systems.

You'll analyze customer data to understand user behavior and product performance. You'll focus on customer cohorts, linking findings to migration plans by identifying trends and optimal strategies for a smooth customer transition.

You'll work with our wider product teams to build and maintain high-performance data pipelines as we migrate many customers every day.

Teamwork is key. You'll collaborate closely with customers, building trust and understanding their needs, addressing concerns, and ensuring satisfaction. Clearly explaining complex data will be crucial for maintaining strong customer relationships.

Our tech stack is very fluid, but broadly you can find yourself working with:

Typescript, Databricks, Node JS, Terraform, Gitactions, Kubernetes, Docker, AWS, Kafka, GraphQL

Kaluza offers credible early-career entry points through graduate roles and an Early Talent Software Engineer pathway, and Kaluza backs that up with unusually strong benefits for a mid-sized tech company. Hiring fairness is a mixed picture: Kaluza publishes DEI and recruiting process improvements, but public interview feedback includes ghosting and missed interviews that are hard to ignore. Early-career outcomes look positive in pockets, but Kaluza does not publish cohort metrics like conversion rates, time-to-promotion, or early-career retention.
