The Product Reliability Engineering (PRE) group prides itself in keeping the applications and systems of Visa up and running to cater to the 24*7 needs of the business.

‍

We are seeking an experienced IT professional to join us as a Site Reliability Engineer, working in the Product Reliability Engineering function who will:

• Perform day-to-day site reliability engineering functions including Maintenance, incident resolution, change deployments for all DPS Debit, DPS Prepaid, VTC, IPDP applications, products and services.
• Perform ongoing/Proactive analysis of various API and UI based applications to detect potential problems and actively engage & facilitate the discussion to find the best possible solution.
• Work under direct supervision to ensure on-time delivery of projects, and production support plans for upgrades, enhancements, and deployments.
• Work closely with service partners such as product development, engineering teams to seamlessly implement innovative solutions to improve the reliability, scalability, and efficiency.
• Assist in automating the routine tasks and processes to improve overall efficiency and reduce human errors.
• Actively participate in troubleshooting activities and SWAT calls and drive investigation towards swift resolution.
• Build comprehensive and robust documentation repositories that can facilitate knowledge transfer among DPS PRE and DPS Global Operations peers.
• Assist the team with implementing GenAI and machine learning trends to continuously optimize the application reliability and efficiency.
• Work with observability team to design and implement the modern Visa observability solutions such as Anomaly detection, operations intelligent platform (OIP), Fault Isolation tool (FIT) across all DPS products.
• Participate in on-call roster to support business including off-hours.
• Self-motivated, and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

Qualifications

‍

Basic Qualifications

‍Bachelors degree, OR 3+ years of relevant work experience

‍

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field.
1–2 years of work experience with Production Application Support

Technical Skills :

‍
Must have :
‍

Java/.NET-based API and UI applications, scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash), and databases (MSSQL, MongoDB). Knowledge of networking, operating systems.
AI based Skills
‍

‍

Good to have :

‍
Middleware (Kafka, Hazelcast), big data (Hadoop), and Kubernetes.
Soft Skills:
Effective communication, adaptability in a 24/7 environment, proactive problem-solving, and a commitment to continuous improvement and emerging technologies like GenAI.
1–2 years of experience supporting Java or .NET framework-based API and UI applications, plus the scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, or Bash.

Working knowledge of Database Management Systems such as MSSQL and MongoDB.

Strong understanding of networking concepts, protocols, and architecture.

Strong understanding of Operating Systems, Data Structures and Algorithms, Cloud computing.

Basic understanding of middleware components (Kafka, Hazelcast), big data frameworks such as Hadoop, along with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes.

Basic understanding of AI frameworks and libraries.

Effective communicator with technical and non-technical teams, including Account Management, Client Services, and support groups.

Prior experience working in shift model in 24*7 environments is a plus.
