We are looking for two interns to join our Purchasing Department:
- One in the Supplier Quality Engineering team – a strategic function ensuring that purchased components meet required standards.
- One in the Buyers team – a strategic function managing suppliers from around the world and building lasting relationships based on trust, performance, and innovation
Varisco Product Company is a well-established and continuously growing manufacturer of pumps for both dewatering and industrial applications. In 2016, Varisco was acquired by Atlas Copco, a Swedish multinational with over 150 years of history.
What you will do and learn as a SUPPLIER QUALITY ENGINEER:
- Developing quality assessment systems for new suppliers
- Organizing and managing supplier audits
- Monitoring and reporting corrective actions to ensure optimal cost and quality outcomes
- Supporting production with quality-related interventions
- Collaborating with project teams in supplier selection, working across various company functions
- Interacting directly with suppliers to negotiate quality standards
- Working with the Technical Department on the development and approval of new components
What you will do and learn as a BUYER:
- Supplier selection and management
- Conducting commercial negotiations (pricing, lead times, quality) to optimize costs and services
- Performing market analysis and tracking economic trends
- Managing samples and purchase contracts, building strong and lasting supplier relationships
- Supporting the development of new projects and technologies
- Contributing to supply chain optimizatio
- Collaborating with Production, Quality, Technical, and Finance departments to enhance cross-functional communication and teamwork
What we expect from our candidates:
- Curious, positive, and proactive mindset, eager to learn and take on challenges
- University degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field
- Problem-solving attitude and results-oriented approach
- Logical thinking, persistence, and team spirit
- Good command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel
- Fluent in both English and Italian, written and spoken
