Model Risk Governance and Review (MRGR) is a global team of modelling experts within the firm’s Risk Management and Compliance organization. The team is responsible for conducting independent model reviews and governance activities to identify, measure, and mitigate model risk across the firm. Within MRGR, the MRGR Credit Portfolio Group (CPG) Derivatives team manages the model risks associated with XVA and Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) capital models for JPMorgan’s extensive derivatives portfolios.

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to a cross-asset framework that spans multiple lines of business and associated models. It encompasses a broad range of usages including valuation, capital, and credit risk management, and operates in a relatively nascent area marked by ongoing model development and enhancement.

As a Model Risk Quant Analyst / Associate in Model Risk Governance and Review team, you will conduct comprehensive model review and governance activities across a diverse array of models. These include risk factor simulation engines, correlation and relatedness models, exposure aggregation and end-use models, such as CVA and FVA (Credit and Funding Valuation Adjustments) as well as CCR Regulatory Exposure. Additionally, you will contribute to the expansion of our benchmarking library and the development of related tools, thus bolstering the model validation team’s capacity to independently test models used in the XVA/CCR space.

About the company

JPMorganChase

Company overview
JPMorganChase is a global financial services group that operates consumer banking under the Chase brand and wholesale banking under the J.P. Morgan brand. JPMorganChase serves retail customers, small businesses, corporates, governments, and institutional investors across products like payments, lending, markets, investment banking, and asset and wealth management. JPMorganChase also runs large technology and operations organisations that support these businesses at scale. JPMorganChase reports operations worldwide and employs hundreds of thousands of people globally.

Locations and presence

JPMorganChase operates globally, with major early-career hiring hubs across the United States, the United Kingdom, and Asia-Pacific (including large operations and technology sites). For many corporate roles, JPMorganChase moved to a more office-based model from March 2025 for staff previously on hybrid schedules, and some functions remain location-tied.

JPMorganChase is one of the most accessible big-name employers for graduates because JPMorganChase runs a very wide set of internships, analyst programmes, and apprenticeships across business, operations, and technology. The trade-off is that the recruitment experience can feel heavy and variable by division, and the overall work model is more office-first than many peers. Early-career progression looks credible through rotations, cohort programmes, and a faster analyst-to-associate track in some areas, but JPMorganChase does not publish consistent conversion and retention metrics by programme.
