Summer engineering intern position to support the manufacturing and engineering of world-class, high-precision manufacturing systems. This is a dynamic position for an individual to work as part of Corning Advanced Optics’ division engineering team. Focus will be on new designs for precision mechanical assemblies, optimizing fabrication and modern manufacturing methods.
Completion of entry-level mechanical design tasks, coordinating repairs with skilled trades personnel, and using basic engineering techniques to support production lines within the plant environment.
• Enrolled in a undergraduate or graduate program
• Coursework in Mechanical Engineering/Technology, or Engineering Science.
• Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Working knowledge of engineering tools such as Solidworks, MATLAB, or Visual Basic programming in Excel.
