About the role:
In Samsara’s Core IT team, we work to deliver awesome systems, support, and experiences that enable our teams to be as impactful as possible. As a member of the Core IT team, you’ll be responsible for owning the technology and processes that enable our people to do their best work. This role will be eligible for remote work.
This is a remote position open to candidates residing in Canada only. Relocation assistance will not be provided for this role.
In this role, you will:
- Drive delivery of various IT Support & Services projects.
- Be the expert point of contact for all IT Hardware Ordering.
- Complete Inventory and hardware forecasting each quarter/year.
- Analyze current laptop management processes, and optimize these to build for scale.
- Develop relationship with IT vendors in various parts of the world, to service new and existing offices.
- Manage IT’s engagement with the rest of the business including gathering requirements, coordinating resources, planning timelines, and communicating with stakeholders.
- Assist in managing SaaS vendor relationships and leveraging tooling optimization for better forecasting for renewals.
- Drive operational excellence: Develop a deep understanding of IT operations (financials, services, performance metrics, SLA’s, etc.) and work with IT management to provide rich context and drive decision-making.
- Develop, evaluate, and refine business processes and propose strategies for improvement.
- Champion, role model, and embed Samsara’s cultural principles (Focus on Customer Success, Build for the Long Term, Adopt a Growth Mindset, Be Inclusive, Win as a Team) as we scale globally and across new offices.
Minimum requirements for the role:
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an analytical or project management capacity, working in an IT organization & owning hardware/asset management.
- Excellent analytical, financial & budgeting skills.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel or similar tool.
- Must reside in Canada.
An ideal candidate has:
- Experience working with Workplace and Real Estate; Finance and Procurement teams.
- Experience with global supply chains & international vendors.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills with an ability to build relationships and work across multi-functional organizations.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent projects end-to-end.
- Strong data management skills (including Google sheets / Excel, Splunk, etc).
- Highly organized and detail-oriented approach, with the ability to prioritize; an independent and flexible problem solver who can adapt in a dynamic environment.
