Internship Program at Tesla

The Internship Recruiting Team is driven by the passion to recognize emerging talent. Our year around program places the best students in positions that they will grow both technically and personally through their experience working closely with their Manager, Mentor, and team. We provide an experience that allows for the intern to experience life at Tesla by giving them projects that are critical to their team’s success.

The Tesla Energy Customer Support Training team creates, manages, and facilitates a wide variety of educational materials that support key stakeholders across multiple product lines and business functions including Energy Storage, Charging, and Solar. The team is looking for a Learning Experience Design Intern who will conceptualize and create engaging educational content designed to enhance the training experience of multiple teams across the Energy organization by analyzing training needs, designing solutions aligned with learning objectives, and creating instructional content that supports key performance indicators.  A strong sense of creativity, out-of-the-box thinking, and problem-solving skills are required for success in this role. This role is full-time onsite in Henderson, NV; Austin, TX; or Buffalo, NY, with up to 25% travel/offsite activities.

Palpable Score

67.9
/ 100
Tesla offers strong early-career access through high-volume internships and a clear non-degree pathway into technician roles via Tesla START, but the candidate experience can be unpredictable because the company openly warns that not every applicant will be contacted. Pay transparency is a bright spot because many Tesla postings include expected compensation ranges and stock language, while 2024 restructuring and layoffs raise stability questions for new hires in some orgs. Public outcomes data for interns and new grads, like conversion rates and early retention, is still mostly missing, which caps the score.
