ABOUT OUR ROLES
In Internal Audit (IA), we ensure that Goldman Sachs maintains effective controls by assessing the reliability of financial reports, monitoring the firm’s compliance with laws and regulations, and advising management on developing smart control solutions. Our group has unique insight on the financial industry and its products and operations. We are looking for detail-oriented team players who have an interest in financial markets and want to gain insight into the firm’s operations and control processes.
Internal Audit (IA) supports the Board of Directors' Audit Committee and senior firm leadership in fulfilling their oversight roles by independently assessing the firm's internal control structure, raising awareness of control risk, providing advice to management in developing control solutions, and monitoring the implementation of management's control measures.
Goldman Sachs Internal Audit is organized into global teams comprising business and technology auditors to cover all the firm’s businesses and functions.
HOW YOU WILL FULFILL YOUR POTENTIAL
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business areas, its products, and supporting functions in China
- Assist in every step of an audit including scoping, planning, fieldwork and reporting
- Execute audit testing to ensure audit fieldwork is focused on the right areas and documentation meets high quality standards
- Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment
- Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to IA senior management and business clients
- Follow-up on open audit issues and their resolution
- Assist in the audit team’s continuous monitoring effort to cover market and regulatory events, business and technology updates and audit/reviews completed
- Participate in department-wide initiatives aimed at continually improving IA's processes and supporting infrastructure
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE WE’RE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications:
- Strong English and Mandarin communication skills (written and verbal) a must.
- Strong project and time management skills with the capabilities to handle multitasks
- Good communicator who can manage multiple stakeholders, keen to drive consensus and influence the outcomes
- Excellent team player with strong interpersonal skills to be enthusiastic, motivated to learn new business and technology knowledge and detailed oriented
- 2 -4 years of experience in an internal audit, compliance testing or external auditing role (including IT audit) within the financial services industry
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of Risk and Control environment and financial products
- Knowledge and experience in Engineering/Technology, or technology audit, or BE/B Tech/BSc or equivalent University degree in Information Technology
- Knowledge of securities and/or investment banking products
- Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., CPA, CA, CFA, CIA, CISA, CISM, CISSP, CAMS, CFE)
- Prior experience in audit of financial services industry or with SAC license is a plus
- Data Analytics skill is a plus
- Ability to review codes (Java, C++, Python, etc.) is a plus
- Experience of relevant technology industry standards – ISO 27001, NIST Framework, etc. is a plus
