Thermo Fisher Scientific is offering an internship opportunity for a Technical Writer focusing on the creation and maintenance of work instructions used in manufacturing and operations. This role is ideal for a student with strong writing skills, attention to detail, and an interest in translating technical knowledge into practical, user-friendly documentation.

As part of the Operations Engineering team, the intern will support documentation processes that directly contribute to the production of high-quality products. The role provides a hands-on introduction to working within a regulated, high-tech manufacturing environment, with exposure to both technical and cross-functional collaboration.

What will the role involve?

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and updating technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and production work instructions. This includes collecting input from subject matter experts, observing processes on the production floor, and ensuring that documents meet internal standards and regulatory requirements. The position also includes working with documentation systems and continuous improvement efforts related to content quality and usability.

This role requires a willingness to learn, a structured mindset, and the ability to turn complex information into clear, actionable content. Collaboration with multiple departments—including production, quality, and engineering—is an essential part of the work.

Palpable Score

78.5
/ 100
Thermo Fisher Scientific offers many early-career entry points, including internships, co-ops, and rotational development programs across multiple functions and geographies. Learning support is a clear strength thanks to structured rotations, formal mentorship references, and internal learning platforms, while hiring consistency and feedback expectations are less uniform across such a large organisation. Pay transparency and outcomes are solid in many markets, but not consistently easy to compare across all teams and countries.
