Basic Job Functions:
Nucor Towers & Structures Inc, a division of Nucor, the nation's largest recycler and largest manufacturer of steel and steel products, is seeking a qualified applicant for the position of Environmental, Health & Safety Intern at our business unit located in Crawfordsville, Indiana or Decatur, Alabama. Specific job responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Assist in the development and implementation of safety policies and procedures.
- Conduct EHS audits and inspections to identify potential hazards.
- Participate in incident investigations and help develop corrective actions.
- Support EHS training programs and initiatives. Maintain safety records and documentation.
- Collaborate with various departments to promote safety awareness.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the EHS team
Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Graduating in May 2027
- Previous internship or work experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Knowledge of OSHA regulations and safety standards.
- Experience with safety management systems and software.
- First Aid/CPR certification.
