Job Description:

Client Coverage Graduate Programme - 2026

Join us if you want to work with some of the most influential local and global corporates in your geographies. You’ll get the opportunity to work with lots of different teams within the Corporate & Investment Banking (CIB) business function and more broadly across the Bank.

About the Graduate Programme – how you’ll learn and grow

From day one, you’ll be immersed in real-world projects that matter. Our 12-month graduate programme is designed to accelerate your development and set you up for long-term success. You’ll benefit from:

•    Structured learning: Classroom training combined with hands-on experience
•    Global collaboration: Work with diverse teams and experienced leaders
•    Skill development: Build technical expertise and professional capabilities

Where you could work

You’ll be placed into one of the following teams:

•    Corporate Coverage: Partnering with top-tier multinational, local and middle-market clients to deliver tailored banking solutions – from cash management, and trade financing to lending, capital markets, and advisory services.
•   Financial Institutions Coverage: Partnering with a diverse client base across banking, insurance, asset management, public sector, and private equity.  The team plays a key role in delivering solutions across financing, risk management, cash and securities, and investment strategies.

Roles

Our industry leading bankers will help you join one of the specialties below. As part of our assessment process, we help you learn more about the opportunities and determine which best suits your skills, attributes, and interests. Whichever route you take, you’ll gain hands-on experience and become an integral part of the team.

•    Assistant Relationship Managers support Senior Relationship Managers in the execution of deals, coordination between clients and product partners, and account planning and business approvals. Sales responsibilities will be assigned to you, and you'll work with multiple stakeholders to identify opportunities.

•    Credit Analysts assist Relationship Managers in managing risk, structuring deals, and monitoring existing clients. You’ll gain a deep understanding of our CIB products and how they are structured. You'll also conduct credit, financial, and industry risk analysis, as well as learn about environmental, sustainability, and reputational risk types and how we manage them.

Key Dates

•    Assessment Centres: From November 2025.
•    Start Date: July 2026.

Exceptions

•    UK & UAE: Candidates requiring visa sponsorship will be considered.
•    UAE: Priority is given to UAE nationals.
•    US: We will only accept applications from individuals who have the permanent right to work in the USA.

About the company

Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered operates across Corporate and Investment Banking, Wealth and Retail Banking, and a large operations and technology footprint. The company serves individuals, SMEs, and large institutions with products spanning lending, transaction banking, markets, and wealth solutions. Standard Chartered is headquartered in London and is publicly listed.

Locations and presence

Standard Chartered states the company operates across 52 markets, with major hubs including London and large operations and technology centres in places like India. Standard Chartered has maintained a hybrid working approach without a fixed in-office-days rule, while still signalling that in-person time matters for mentorship and junior development.

Palpable Score

75
/ 100
Standard Chartered offers clear early-career entry through global graduate and internship pathways, plus earlier on-ramps like spring insight programmes in some markets. Standard Chartered also gives candidates a more explicit view of the hiring journey than many banks, including assessment centre guidance and timeline expectations. The score is capped by limited public pay transparency for junior roles and incomplete public data on conversion, retention, and promotion rates, alongside recent cost-cutting job moves affecting some teams.
