The Blockchain team leads Temasek’s efforts in exploring opportunities in blockchain technology. The team is pioneering efforts to expand Temasek’s scope beyond traditional investing.

As an Investment Associate, you will play a crucial role in evaluating, executing, and managing investments in blockchain related companies and funds, and supporting venture building activities.

Responsibilities

• Identification and Assessment of Investment / Build Opportunities:
  • Support the team to identify key developments and assess investment/build opportunities within the blockchain category
  • Conduct research and analysis on relevant companies and projects within assigned sub-categories
  • Develop financial models and presentations for internal evaluation and investment committees, and coordinate internal processes
• Portfolio Management:
  • Monitor investments and ventures in the portfolio, tracking performance and identifying potential areas of improvement or risk
  • Regularly report on the portfolio's performance to internal stakeholders
• Reporting and Strategic Initiatives:
  • Stay updated on industry trends and developments
  • Establish and cultivate relationships with companies, foundations, projects, research analysts and other relevant parties
  • Assist with team’s regular portfolio reporting and periodic firm-wide strategic initiatives

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, preferably with exposure to finance, accounting, and/or economics
• 1-2 years working experience with a top-tier management consulting, investment banking, corporate finance, M&A and/or accounting firm
• Functional skills – Proficiency in building financial and valuation models; Ability to conduct thorough business analysis and prepare presentations for funds and direct investments to internal committees.
• Dealing with ambiguity – Effective in navigating in a space that’s rapidly evolving; Ability to make progress and provide valuable insights despite uncertainties.
• Business acumen – In-depth understanding of how businesses operate in the blockchain and related space; Familiarity with strategies, policies, practices, trends, and information relevant to this industry.
• Learning agility – Strong learning agility and adaptability. Ability to quickly grasp the essence and underlying structure of new business segments within the blockchain space.
• Time management – Excellent time management skills to effectively and efficiently handle conflicting priorities. Ability to demonstrate productivity and efficiency.
