Join Aon as a Commercial Risk or Reinsurance graduate and learn about our Risk business and the broking process, develop your professional skills, and build strong relationships with clients and colleagues alike.

Commercial Risk Solutions: Trends in economics, demographics and geopolitics – compounded by the rapid pace of technological change – are creating unprecedented volatility for organisations. Your role as a Commercial Risk or Reinsurance Broking Graduate:

Our Commercial Risk graduates and Reinsurance graduates are part of rotational programmes within each solution line.

Whether you join Commercial Risk or Reinsurance Solutions, all our graduates experience the full lifecycle of our business; from trading risk in the market and understanding the importance of claims, through to winning new business.

You’ll focus on developing client-management skills too and build relationships to enable sales/revenue growth.  You will make data led decisions while working with a broad spectrum of people, including clients, our own industry specialists and members of the global insurance and reinsurance markets.

During your rotations you’ll gain exposure to both technical and client-facing roles — this will help you to understand the specialist advice our clients rely on, and how we share it with them. Placements can include broking, claims, client management and specialist project roles.

We encourage you to take the time to review our Commercial Risk & Reinsurance solution lines. When you complete your application, select your first-choice preferred solution line should you be successful. Please note that where possible, we will try to consider you for your first-choice preference, however we cannot guarantee your first choice due to availability of roles. If your first choice is unavailable at the time of your Assessment Centre, we will also consider you for the other teams.

Your Development

As an Aon Graduate, you will be enrolled onto our Launch Programme when you join. This development programme is built around 3 core elements:

  1. Business learning. On the job learning and experiences giving you the opportunity to develop your knowledge and understanding of the team and solution line you have joined
  2. Centralised learning. UK graduates complete in an Aon Induction, monthly webinars, business skills training and workshops; all designed to help you develop your knowledge of Aon, build your confidence and your network across our business
  3. Professional Qualifications. To enable you to be as successful as possible, as part of your role, you will be expected to complete our Go Further Apprenticeship programmes. We’ll fully support your study towards the level 4 Diploma in Insurance from the CII (Chartered Insurance Institute) and beyond. To support you as you study for your exams, you’ll receive paid study leave, plus an extensive range of study and tuition materials

Your career beyond your Graduate programme

Once you’ve completed the formal 18 month graduate rotational programme you will be promoted into a role within either Commercial Risk or Reinsurance, depending on the stream you are part of. We will continue to support technical and business skills training, and your CII qualifications. To aid your professional development you’ll receive regular performance feedback, and work with your line manager towards promotions, enabling you to continue to progress.

Palpable Score

75.1
/ 100
Aon offers multiple real entry routes, including paid internships, graduate Launch pathways, and apprenticeships that are designed for people starting out. Aon also publishes a relatively clear early-career selection journey in public-facing guidance, but candidate experiences suggest timing and communication can still vary by role and location. The score is held back mainly by limited public outcomes data, such as conversion rates from internships to full-time roles and early-career retention or promotion metrics.
