A little more about your role….

As a paid, full-time, permanent employee, you will join a global community of talented engineers, scientists, and advisors. You will receive full training combined with real, on the job learning.

You will work with dynamic teams on a variety of projects across multiple sectors from day one. You will ask questions, look at problems from a different angle and help find solutions that break concepts.

As an apprentice you will aid shape the communities of tomorrow, embrace change and achieve excellence.

We have Apprenticeship opportunities in;

Civil Engineering: Study the principles of designing, constructing, and maintaining roads, bridges, sports stadiums, high rises, airports, and other infrastructure.

The Apprenticeship Programme

You will start your Advanced Apprenticeship in September 2026, attending a local College for either one day per week or block placement, and working towards achieving a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship and EngTech equivalent in England (equivalent to 2 A Levels) in your chosen subject.  You will also have the opportunity to become registered with a relevant professional institution.

The apprenticeship supports career growth through blended learning. It offers business and role-specific training, networking, mentoring, and practical experience. It includes an induction, training days, online content, on-the-job learning, and on-demand resources.

Together with the dedicated Early Careers team, support from your team and assigned buddy, we will work closely with you over the course of your apprenticeship to support and plan a development pathway that suits you.

Typically, the Advanced Apprenticeship takes between 2-3 years to complete (including End Point Assessment in England).

We also have a unique Professional Growth Network (PGN), which is a networking group run by early career professionals for ECP’s. It helps to grow your network of contacts across the business as well as providing you with opportunities for extra experience and to support you in achieving chartered status or other professional accreditations.

What we will be looking for you to demonstrate…

Locations and presence

Palpable Score

77.4
/ 100
WSP is easy to spot as an early-career destination because the company runs multiple structured entry routes across internships, placements, apprenticeships, and graduate programmes, with clear pathways into technical practice. Hiring information is unusually detailed in some early-career channels, and support for professional development is visible through chartership mentoring, early-career networks, and wellbeing support. Pay looks stable and internships are paid, but salary transparency is patchy across regions and role types, which caps the overall score.
