Job Description

If you want a student placement where you do loads of photocopying and making people cups of tea, this one really isn’t for you!!

Each year we invite Students to complete their placement year with us in our Eco HQ in Surrey. We nickname these students our ‘Future Talent’ because they often go on to do great things, either here at TGB, on our Graduate scheme or in the wider working world.

We are proud to offer a 12 month placement as part of your undergraduate degree, giving you Industry experience in a global brand (but with community feel) organisation. As part of the emerging talent community, you’ll get access to our 70:20:10 learning and development framework*, you’ll have the support of the student community and roll your sleeves up to get involved in specific projects & fundraising to make a genuine difference.

Weather you know the exact path you want to take, just want to dip your toe into working life or you’ve not really thought about what happens after uni, we’re able to provide you with experience in a generalist sales and marketing business, we’re inclusive and we’ll give you the tools for you to grow into a well-rounded employable graduate.

You might also be a complete petrol head (which is great, but you don’t have to be), love innovation and believe that there’s ‘Always a better way’? If so, read on for more information about our placements and how we make it as easy as possible for you to apply!

PR and Social Business Student – Whistle stop overview

Our Press Relations and Social Media department has two roles available, one for each area of its work. The two teams work closely together, which means we can provide a single recruitment stream for candidates, giving you a better recruitment experience.

The roles will give you the chance to learn how this busy and influential department works and to develop valuable skills. On the social media side you will respond directly to Toyota and Lexus’s social audiences, providing accurate information and publishing content to different platforms. Where Press Relations is concerned, you will gain real-world experience in building and maintaining relationships between our brands and the media. You will have ample opportunities to bring new ideas to the team and help manage and monitor new product launches, from inception to completion.

The Press and Social team will encourage you to come up with ideas on how its processes and ways of working might be improved. You will also be encouraged to take ownership of specific projects, so we are looking for candidates with a good eye for detail. You will also have access to the Insights team, giving you the chance to learn to analyse, code and report on social conversations.

Locations and presence

Toyota Motor Corporation lists the Head Office in Toyota City, Aichi Prefecture, Japan, alongside a Tokyo Head Office and other Japan offices. Palpable Score

76.5
/ 100
Toyota scores well because Toyota runs multiple credible entry points for graduates, including paid internships and co-ops, rotational early-career programs, and structured graduate development programs in Europe and the UK. The main cap is transparency consistency: Toyota provides helpful “what to expect” steps in some regions, but detailed timelines and assessment expectations still rely heavily on candidate reports. Outcomes look broadly positive in employee sentiment, but Toyota does not publish consistent early-career conversion, promotion, or retention metrics across regions.
