Via is changing the way the world moves, and as a Public Relations Associate, you will play a meaningful role in telling the stories that show the positive impact of transit on local communities. You will help bring the voice for our 500+ partners and millions of riders around the globe to life in the press. You are at the center of what’s happening at Via, with visibility and insight into newsworthy launches, big announcements, and ongoing growth efforts. As part of Via’s marketing team you will have the opportunity to work with marketing specialists, designers, sales people, and policy experts to bring local stories to life.
What You'll Do:
- Take a leading role in the coordination of global partner launches and milestone celebrations - including announcements and events.
- Draft press releases, pitches, and messaging to support partner launch and celebration efforts, all while accurately conveying the Via brand.
- Maintain regular communication with Via commercial teams to support priority markets
- Liaise closely with Rider Growth, Policy, Operations, and Partner Success teams to uncover opportunities for PR to partner on marketing efforts.
- Elevate the voice of the rider and the voice of our partners in local media.
- Inform social media content (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook) related to press announcements and top media placements.
- Manage and maintain media lists, with ongoing audit of “who’s who” in the tech, transit, and local media landscape.
- Be responsible for daily media monitoring and reporting.
- Draft monthly “Via in the News” coverage reports for global employees and investors.
Who You Are:
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience in public relations or communications, either at an agency or in-house.
- Understanding of the media landscape.
- Personal experience developing pitches and securing press coverage.
- Creative thinker who can develop out-of-the box solutions and storylines.
- Strong communicator, who is able to adapt their level of detail depending on the audience.
- Energetic and personable, able to build relationships with partner press teams and internal stakeholders, manage launch events, and local media on the ground.
- Independent, organized, and self-starter who is comfortable taking on a high level of responsibility.
- Excellent writer - clear, concise, and interesting.
- Humble, low ego, team player.
