‍
You will lead our efforts to define, own, and position Tree.ly’s product offering within the evolving landscape of the voluntary carbon market (VCM). From regulatory frameworks to quality labels, you will ensure our approach is recognised, integrated into standards, and grounded in scientific credibility. You’ll also act as a bridge between regulatory trends, methodological development, and our digital products – helping to scale impact with transparency and integrity. You sit at the nexus of all these topics, working with a diverse set of internal and external stakeholders, including C-Level, Sales, Marketing, Forest as well as policymakers, project developers and standard setters.
‍
This is a broad, cross-functional role. If you see yourself as a strong fit for a specific part of the responsibilities (e.g. biodiversity, methodology development, or regulatory strategy), we still encourage you to apply. We’re open to shaping this role around the right person, including part-time setups or splitting the responsibilities across multiple hires.
‍
Regulatory & Standards Landscape
Monitor and interpret emerging trends in carbon standards, EU regulations (e.g. CSRD, EU CRCF), and national climate policies relevant to our projects and buyers.
‍
Methodology Projects
Lead or support the development, comparison, and application of methodologies for our portfolio of forestry projects. This includes working closely with forestry professionals and academics, as well as our partners at Wald-Klimaschutz Schweiz, to further develop our offering of carbon credits.
‍
Tree.ly Methodology Ownership
Lead the strategic development and recognition of Tree.ly’s proprietary methodology. This includes evaluating options for carbon crediting schemes to house our methodology and integrating it into regional schemes and quality labels, such as ICROA, ICVCM and regional/national voluntary schemes.
‍
Strategic Special Projects
Manage one-off or cross-functional initiatives – e.g. launching pilot projects with partners, supporting R&D efforts, public funding proposals or contributing to industry consultations.
‍
Product-Market Fit
Translate regulatory and methodological requirements into inputs for our digital products (e.g. Project Design Studio, Registry, Impact Dashboard), working closely with product, data, sales and design teams.
‍
Partnerships & Representation
Represent our perspective in industry working groups and at conferences. Foster relationships with key stakeholders, including policymakers, standard setters, and project partners.
‍
Biodiversity and Co-Benefits
Lead or support the integration of biodiversity as a core feature of the Tree.ly product offering. Work closely with forestry and biodiversity experts to create a verification system for biodiversity. Explore other verifiable Co-Benefits, such as SDGs.
‍
ProFIT Berlin Project
Coordinate the non-technical part of our public funding project, the “Impact Engine” – our research project to integrate data science and AI with our projects. You will work closely with the product team to ensure the Impact Engine delivers strong differentiation for Tree.ly and adds value for our corporate customers. You will also take over administrative tasks to ensure the project stays on track and that we deliver on our commitments in terms of milestones and reporting.

We know that no one ever meets 100% of the criteria. If you’re excited about this role and think you could be a great fit, we’d love to hear from you, even if your experience doesn’t match the job description perfectly.
