Legal Intern

We are looking for candidates who are curious and keen to learn how to work in a fast-paced travel technology company and discover the various roles in-house lawyers play.

What You’ll Do:
- You'll work with an ELCA member on projects to gain greater understanding of the legal concerns in your area
- You’ll work on a variety of matters, which may include:
- Assisting the lawyers on managing a portfolio of consumer claims in Brazil and Latin America
- Screening and sorting of subpoenas and court summons
- Interfacing with legal partners to define the course of action in lawsuits and other customer complaints
- Interacting with customer support teams to request subsidies and supporting documentation for the structuring of defense strategies
- Assisting the lawyers to provide quality legal advice and supporting the legal team on day-to-day work
- Analyzing current industry issues and participating in analysis of issues with stakeholders
- Interacting with outside counsel on day-to-day work, including but not limited to requesting periodic litigation reports, status updates and fee reporting
- Learning about and engaging in review of legal advice, which can include review of contractual issues and formulating a legal risk assessment
- You’ll analyze and present on an area of law to ELCA members and/or stakeholders
- You'll engage with the global ELCA team providing you with international experience
Who You Are:

- Available to start by end of 2025 for 1 year (renewable up to 1 more year)
- Currently in your 2nd or 3rd year of Bachelor's degree in Law in Brazil
- Effective organization and communication skills and the ability to engage with a variety of partners (e.g., internal, external, technical, non-technical people)
- A passion for law and its impact on technology
- Required level of English: Fluent (English is the standard language used throughout Expedia Group)
