About the Team

The Payroll Specialist role is part of the payroll team at Nutanix, based in Bangalore, India. This team is characterized by a collaborative culture that values hands-on experience and individual contribution. The mission of the Payroll team at Nutanix is to ensure accurate financial reporting and facilitate smooth month-end closing processes while supporting overall financial health and operational efficiency within the organization.

You will report to the Hiring Manager, who is committed to fostering a supportive and collaborative work environment. Manjunath, the hiring manager, encourages team members to take initiative and actively participate in problem-solving.

Your Role

Payroll Processing

Execute end-to-end monthly payroll for employees with accuracy.
Ensure timely computation and disbursement of salaries.
Handle final settlements (F&F).
Maintaining confidentiality of payroll data
Manage PF, ESI, PT, TDS, LWF, TCS and other statutory compliance.
Ensure payroll operations align with internal policies and legal regulations.
Address employee queries related to salary, deductions, and payroll
discrepancies through service now ticketing system.
Manage onboarding and offboarding formalities.
Collaborate with HR and Finance departments for smooth payroll operations.
Ensure compliance with audit requirements with respect to payroll.

General Accounting

Handle daily bank transactions and reconciliations
Post journal entries & general ledger review
Collaborate with senior accountants and finance teams
Support team in month-end and year-end closing activities
Provide support during internal/external audits
Familiarity with basic financial compliance such as TDS, GST, advance tax
payments etc.

What You Will Bring

Should hold a bachelor’s degree in commerce, Finance, HR, or related field.
Working knowledge in MS Excel (VLOOKUP, Pivot Table etc.,)
Good communication, coordination skills and ability to work in a team
Familiarity with payroll software like GreytHR & accounting tool like Net Suite
Willingness to learn and adapt to changes

Work Arrangement

Hybrid: This role operates in a hybrid capacity, blending the benefits of remote work with the advantages of in-person collaboration. In locations where our workplace policy applies (i.e. San Jose, Durham, Mexico City, Bangalore, Pune, Hoofddorp, Belgrade, Barcelona, Singapore, Sydney and Tokyo), employees are expected to work onsite a minimum of 3 days per week to foster collaboration, team alignment, and access to in-office resources.
