We are currently seeking an intern, preferably for the summer and early fall 2026, in the Corporate Nuclear NDE group located at Dominion Energy's Innsbrook Technical Center in Glen Allen, VA. Β The fall portion of this internship would involve approximately three to four weeks of hands-on refueling outage experience at one of our nuclear stations.

While this is the preferred timeframe for the internship, it is possible that alternate 2026 schedules may be accommodated if that schedule meets the mutual benefit of the intern and Dominion Energy.

The Corporate Nuclear Engineering NDE (Nondestructive Examination) group has responsibility for developing, maintaining, and implementing the fleet NDE Program to support the Dominion Energy nuclear plants in Virginia, Connecticut, and South Carolina. Β The fleet NDE Program provides a standardized method for establishing fleet NDE procedures, guidelines, processes, and direction to ensure a consistent approach for implementation of NDE at each site. The NDE Program includes NDE performed in support of ASME Section XI Preservice and Inservice Inspection, balance of plant Β (non-Section XI related), Flow Accelerated Corrosion, License Renewal, Subsequent License Renewal , engineering and maintenance requested examinations.

An intern in NDE would assist the corporate NDE staff perform nondestructive examinations of power plant welds, components, and equipment during normal plant operation and outage situations for the Dominion Energy nuclear fleet. Travel to nuclear stations within the fleet is required to provide NDE support as needed..

The most qualified candidate would have the skills and knowledge to properly perform specific calibrations, specific tests, and be able to follow approved nondestructive testing procedures under the direct guidance or supervision of an NDE Level II or NDE Level III examiner. Β The most qualified candidate will have had some exposure to performing nondestructive examinations in the Magnetic Particle (MT), Liquid Penetrant (PT), and Ultrasonic (UT) NDE methods. The most qualified candidate would demonstrate a strong ability to rapidly grasp new technical concepts and work either independently or as a group to meet challenging goals. The most qualified candidate would demonstrate an ability to collaborate effectively with a team and would demonstrate strong communication skills.
