Job Purpose:
The goal of the accounting intern will be to obtain entry level experience and valuable connections as an accountant in the music industry.
What You’ll Do:
- Help update and enhance departmental overhead reporting.
- Record journal entries consistent with US GAAP
- Gather supporting documentation for various accounting records
- Take on research projects to assist the team with role-specific items
- Generate invoices to send to affiliates and external parties for masters uses, royalties, and service fees
- Assist with other accounting processes as needed
Who You Are:
- Currently enrolled in a college or university, pursuing a degree in Accounting
- Passionate about the music and entertainment business, and have a desire to build a career in the industry
- Able to adapt quickly to a changing environment with minimal disruption
- An excellent communicator and enthusiastic collaborator who works well with team members, external partners, and senior management
- You are hungry to learn and grow. You are curious, ask questions and get excited about new projects
- A highly organized person that pays close attention to the details and can effectively time manage their responsibilities and tasks
- Sound, professional presence over the phone and during times of stress
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and basic computer skills
- Experience using CRM and accounting information systems are a plus
- Knowledge of Excel Macros is a plus
- Flexible working hours during semester (ideally 10+ hours a week), 30 hours per week required during summer
- Availability for the spring semester and summer
