What you’ll do:
- Apply user-centered design, Design Thinking processes, and Lean Design principles to create exceptional user experiences.
- Be a self-motivated member of the team, working independently and seeking guidance when necessary to complete tasks.
- Organize and facilitate user testing sessions, collaborating closely with UX Researchers, Principal and Senior designers, and development stakeholders.
- Contribute to developing and maintaining the Symbotic UI Design System.
- Own active design projects from end-to-end by creating sketches, wireframes, high-resolution UI visual designs, and Figma clickable prototypes.
- Advocate for end-users, UX Research & Design processes and methodologies, innovation, usability and accessibility, and the creation and guidance of interface standards.
- Observe operations at the Wilmington, MA Headquarters and Test site to experience Symbotic’s complex hardware and software products for better context when designing.
What you’ll need:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g., Computer Science, Human-Computer Interaction, UX Design) or equivalent practical experience.
- A creative, strategic, and innovative personality with a drive to ask insightful questions and understand user aspirations, frustration, and motivations.
- Solid understanding of UX design principles, information architecture, and user-centered design methodologies.
- Ability to work with ambiguous requirements and produce results independently.
- Familiarity with design tools like Sketch, Figma, or Adobe XD.
- Willingness to collaborate and bring a voice for UX to development teams, ensuring that designs are implemented as intended.
- Vocal, humble, and coachable contributor and recipient of design critiques.
- Ability to work across multiple design projects with maintaining timelines and deadlines in JIRA, Confluence, etc.
- Familiarity with generative AI applied to UX design and analysis, with interest in other technologies is a plus.
Our environment
- Up to 10% of travel may be required. Employees must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to drive and/or fly to client and other customer locations.
- The employee is responsible for owning a credit card and managing expenses personally to be reimbursed on a bi-weekly basis.
