If you are a Design Engineer, Emerson has an exciting opportunity for you! Located in our McKinney, Texas business unit headquarters you will provide engineering support for projects related to Emersonโs Natural Gas, Industrial, Propane, and Pressure Relief Valve product families. ย You will be responsible for the successful execution of simultaneous projects and be involved with all aspects of both new and renewal of third party approvals. ย In addition to product approvals, you will be responsible for the engineering deliverables related to product extensions and cost reductions. In this Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Manage the lifecycle of product approvals (e.g. UL, PED, ATEX, CRN, etc.) by utilizing applicable codes, calculations, and completing the risk/hazard analysis to comply with the requirements of multiple 3rd party approval agencies.
- Create comprehensive technical files: ย drawings, BoM, calculations, material specs, test reports, and labeling.
- Interpret and apply North American, European, and international codes, standards, and directives.
- Coordinate testing with internal labs and 3rd party agencies. ย Establish acceptance criteria and timelines.
- Monitor evolving standards and regulations and lead internal gap assessments.
- Collaborate with global teams to align standards and share best practices.
- Design and develop product extensions and improvements for existing products within established guidelines including a strong emphasis on cost reductions, product extensions, and other Value-Added projects.
- Perform or coordinate engineering analysis for stress and flow prediction using Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) and other engineering analysis tools.
- Review deviation requests related to material, performance, and sizing.
- Drive engineering changes and ensure proper documentation control.
- Partner with cross functional groups to smoothly implement designs into global operations. ย This would include updating Bill of Materials, drawings, engineering procedures and 3rd party approvals.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Two years of relevant engineering experience
- High mechanical aptitude
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally 10%of the time
- Legal authorization to work in the United States - sponsorship will not be provided for this role

Preferred Qualifications that Set You Apart:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Background in Material Science and Application
- Background in CAD, Tolerance Studies, Drawing Interpretation, GD&T, etc.
- Demonstrated knowledge of pressure management devices and technologies
- Working knowledge of NX or similar Solid Modeling packages.
