Trade Compliance Specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with numerous, technical, legal and regulatory requirements associated with the company's cross-border movement of goods and services; to mitigate the risk of such activities; optimize the financial impact of the company's trade compliance activities through trade program management.

In This Role, Your Responsibilities Will Be:
- Support Emerson Global Trade Compliance efforts to maintain and enhance Emerson Process Management and Fisher process and procedures regarding regulated trade activities (imports, exports, trade programs) .
- Perform basic legislative and regulatory impact analysis.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable import and export regulatory requirements.
- Perform export transaction screening and escalation as necessary.
- Strong problem solving skills and analytical capabilities.
- Demonstrate attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities simultaneously set priorities in a fast paced environment and work both independently and as a team.
- Correspond with external organizations such as customs agents, freight forwarders/agents and carriers.
- Perform regular import/export operational compliance audits per Emerson and Trade Compliance Management System guidelines to ensure due diligence/reasonable care with regulatory requirements and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Resolution of compliance activities (government and/or corporate audits and inquiries; support on compliance issues.
- Determine the proper jurisdiction and classification of company products/buyouts, technology and services.
- Export license determination and application processes with the Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) or other government authority as needed.
- Assist in performing annual U.S. Customs Reconciliation processes.
- Work with programmers to ensure compliance related extensions are performing properly. Β Provide potential system enhancements or break fix analysis and recommendations to business systems analysts and programmers.
- Work with Global Trade Compliance team to execute strategy, seek automation opportunities and leverage technologies to develop a best-in-class trade compliance program globally.
- Manage order through a variety of web-based tools.
- Participate in and perform training activities pertaining to Trade Compliance and regulatory requirements.
- Complete advanced shipping documentation, including use of various customer specific forms.
- Must develop and maintain relationships with a variety of functional areas to coordinate the importing and exporting of material to/from the United States.
- These functional relationships must result in system and process improvements at operations not under the direct administrative control of this individual.
- Position will also work closely with U.S. Customs brokers, freight forwarders and a variety of personnel from the Emerson and Emerson Process trade compliance groups.

For This Role, You Will Need:
- Bachelor degree in international Trade, Business Administration, Law, or related field
- 1β3 years of experience in trade compliance, customs brokerage, international logistics or similar field
- Experience with ERP systems (Oracle) and trade management software

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:
- Knowledge of the EAR, CBP and FTSR Regulations preferred
- Strong communication skills, verbal and written
- Self-motivated and possess ability to handle multiple tasks
- Understanding of Logistics/Global Supply Chain practices and concepts a plus
- Knowledge of Fisher products preferred but not required
- Flexible and adaptable to change
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office Skills required, (MS Access preferred)
- Certifications such as CCS, CES, or CUSECO preferred.
- Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strategic thinker with a proactive approach to risk mitigation.
