Nucor Steel Decatur is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Maintenance Mechanic. The candidate must work safely in a team environment. Execution of reliability based maintenance programs to ensure optimum performance of equipment to plant operations in several production units. This position performs preventative maintenance, troubleshooting and repairs of hydraulic and pneumatic, fabrication, and down day planning for equipment.  Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. Must have an Associates degree in Industrial Mechanical Maintenance, a related technical field, or 3 years of Industrial Mechanical Maintenance experience
2. Mechanical experience consisting of welding, fabrication, millwright, or machine shop equipment

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Previous heavy industrial maintenance or steel making experience
