Jr. FinOps Engineer
We are seeking an enthusiastic FinOps Engineer to join our Cloud Technology team, focusing on Service Optimization and Software Asset Management Compliance. This entry-level position offers a unique opportunity to gain expertise in public cloud technologies while working with a motivated team guiding Thomson Reuters' cloud hosting and third-party monitoring services.
About the role:
Cloud Cost Management:
- Assist in analyzing the cost implications of cloud technology choices for new and existing projects.
- Help identify underutilized resources and support cost optimization efforts.
- Learn to create and maintain cost-related reports and dashboards.
Team Collaboration:
- Work with product development teams to understand their cloud usage and cost drivers.
- Support the design and implementation of cloud cost visualization tools.
- Participate in discussions with peers, architects, and managers to understand cloud strategies.
Financial Planning:
- Assist in budget planning and forecasting activities related to cloud costs.
- Help prepare monthly reviews of current spend vs. budget.
- Learn to analyze data and identify cost trends.
About You:
- Bachelor's degree in finance, data analytics, technology, or related field
- 0-2 years of experience in a business or technical role
- Basic understanding of cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficiency in Excel and data analysis
- Strong interest in technology and willingness to learn
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work in a globally distributed team.
