Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
β€’ Lead and ensure technical excellence in the analysis and valuation of oil and gas assets.
β€’ Drive the preparation of client presentations and serve as a key point of contact for senior bankers and clients.
β€’ Oversee company and industry research, synthesizing findings into actionable strategic insights and recommendations.
β€’ Manage and mentor analysts in handling large datasets, technical workflows, and extracting critical business insights.

Primary Responsibilities:

β€’ Lead the development, calibration, and validation of type curves and production forecasts across a broad spectrum of oil and gas assets.
β€’ Apply advanced reservoir engineering and data science methodologies to formulate and defend optimized development strategies for client assets.
β€’ Direct the generation, categorization, and risk-assessment of undeveloped inventory.
β€’ Own the construction, population, and quality-control of complex discounted cash flow (DCF) valuation models using ARIES, PHDWin, and/or ComboCurve, and clearly articulate results to clients.
β€’ Own the development and maintenance of technical databases (ARIES, ComboCurve, PHDWin, SQL/Parquet, etc.) used for valuation and marketing analyses.
β€’ Lead technical and operational due-diligence workstreams, including diligence calls with counterparties, creation of deal materials, model audit, and process management from start to finish.
β€’ Partner closely with senior bankers to support transaction execution, client deliverables, buyer interaction, and process integrity.

Required Skills & Experience:

β€’ Strong data-analytics and problem-solving capabilities.
β€’ Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple complex workstreams simultaneously.
β€’ Proven ability to perform under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced, deal-driven environment.
β€’ Strong analytical and numerical skills with comfort navigating complex technical & financial datasets.
β€’ Strong presentation, communication, and client-facing skills.
β€’ Ability to challenge assumptions and contribute independent, critical thinking.
β€’ Effective team player capable of working with a wide range of internal groups and external stakeholders.
β€’ Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; strong working knowledge of the full Microsoft Office suite.
β€’ Strong coding experience (Spotfire, Python, SQL, VBA, etc.) and demonstrated ability to automate workflows or handle large datasets.
β€’ Prior experience working with public oil & gas datasets (Enverus, IHS, state agencies, etc.).

Qualifications:

β€’ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Petroleum Engineering preferred; MBA or other advanced technical or quantitative degree is a plus.
β€’ 3–5+ years of experience in the oil & gas industry, ideally in A&D, corporate development, reservoir engineering, or investment banking.
β€’ Minimum GPA: 3.5.
