The Team: FIG Research generates insightful content and drives client engagement leveraging S&P Global Market Intelligence’s best-in-class deep sector data with a focus on banking and insurance, currently focused on US markets. This role will facilitate a build-out of insurance coverage to complementary geographies, addressing the evolving and expanding needs of our clients. Here, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with and learn from experienced professionals, contributing to the growth of a leading industry research organization.
Responsibilities and Impact:
- Produce periodic research covering key property/casualty and life and health insurance and reinsurance markets with an initial focus on the US, Canada and Bermuda, partnering with lead analyst on existing coverage and expanding into new niches
- Engage with market development and commercial teams to identify emerging trends that will drive future sales growth and support client retention
- Participate in ongoing client engagement initiatives, including presentations of research insights to individual clients and speaking roles at industry events
- Support the FIG Research team in cross-sector and cross-divisional collaboration to highlight complementary data sets and to help clients address evolving needs
- Responsible for maintaining and improving models/dashboards/databases, including through leveraging new templates and data feeds
Compensation/Benefits Information (US Applicants Only):
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $77,004 to $96,000. Base salary ranges may vary by geographic location.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for additional compensation such as annual incentive bonus plan.

What We’re Looking For:
Basic Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting, economics, business administration, or similar field
- Minimum two years of full-time experience in analytics, consulting, data-driven journalism, equity research, investment banking, competitive intelligence or equivalent professional experience
- Excellent oral and written communication skills. Must be able to effectively present forecasts and supporting materials to clients in regular reports, phone calls, emails, and web/live conferences
- Strong ability to identify vital short- and long-term dynamics impacting the insurance industry by exploiting data and information with multiple quantitative tools, visualization platforms and qualitative methods
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint
Additional Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity and understanding of relevant accounting regimes, including US Statutory Accounting Principles, US GAAP and IFRS 17
- Experience analysing US statutory filings and related data
- Ability and willingness to travel locally and internationally for client engagements and industry events
- A track record of producing research articles, reports and presentations on deadline
