As a Microsoft Data Center Technician (DCT) in QuΓ©bec City, you will be responsible for staging, setting up, and performing hardware deployments. You will also troubleshoot and diagnose equipment and manage hardware decommissions for simple changes and refreshes according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). This role will deepen your understanding of Data Center processes, develop mentoring skills, and familiarize you with security and data management procedures, accelerating your career growth.

Physical Requirements
- Occasionally climb ladders.
- Frequently ascend stairs and/or ramps.
- Engage in prolonged standing.
- Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs (22.5 kg).
- Push or pull occasionally, 50-75 lbs (22.5-34 kg) with assistance if necessary.
In this environment, you may be required to travel 0-25% of the time to support other metro areas.

Key Responsibilities
- Data Center Operations
- Comply with Data Center policies and procedures under guidance from experienced technicians.
- Address assigned tickets efficiently, providing assistance to less experienced technicians as needed.
- Understand the standard processes for preparing, installing, and troubleshooting IT technologies.
- Work Environment
- Foster a positive team environment by sharing information and participating in regular meetings.
- Complete required training in security and data management.
- Participate in daily safety briefings and adhere to safety protocols.
- Service Management
- Understand cross-functional Data Center processes to support partnerships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Complete required training on technical processes and escalate issues when necessary.
- Maintain awareness of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for personal discussions.
- Service Delivery
- Immediately report any technical or safety incidents to management.
- Prepare and perform basic setups and shutdowns of hardware based on specific instructions.
- Execute diagnostics and troubleshooting to identify and resolve technical issues with minimal disruption.
- Working Conditions
- Work in environments with elevated noise, heat, and light levels due to equipment and ventilation systems.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Qualifications
Required/Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent, with basic knowledge of computer hardware and components or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.

Other Requirements
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including:
- Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
- Reliability Status Screening with the Government of Canada.
