‍Contributes to the overall success of the Procurement, Operations and Payments, Quality Assurance (QA) team ensuring specific individual goals, plans, initiatives are executed / delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all activities conducted are in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.

‍Accountabilities:
‍
‍•   Champions a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge
•   Works in collaboration with other operational team members to ensure Procurement QA activities aligned to operating procedures are being performed in a timely and accurate manner
•   Maintains detailed knowledge of policies, standards, and procedures and applies them to QA activities
•   Ensures accuracy and integrity of procurement & payments data – e.g. compares data in systems matches contract documents
•   Interacts with BU employees to gather additional details before payment processing can proceed
•   Reviews and makes recommendations to improve operating procedures
•   Prepares QA reports summarizing findings
•   Captures data points that contributes to the reporting of operations SLAs / KPIs / KRIs
•   Conducts cross-training to Procurement QA staff
•   Prepare job aids that proactively help to reduce support volume and resolution times.
•   Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions
•   Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of their respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.

•   Regular interaction with accounts payable Managers & Supervisors in payments processing centre
•   Subject of SOX reporting, controls, audits.

‍Education / Experience: Â
‍
‍•   College Diploma or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
•   University degree in Finance or related studies, a definite asset.
•   Excellent knowledge of MS Office
•   Excellent customer service and communication skills
•   Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team
•   Ability to listen, understand and handle employee payment inquiries, problems, or escalations in a timely manner
•   Excellent organizational and analytical skills
