THE ROLE:

As an experienced Technical Writer in AMDβs Data Center Platform Engineering Group (DPEG) organization, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining high-quality technical documentation that supports AMDβs data center products and solutions. This includes working closely with architecture and engineering teams to translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and user-friendly content for internal and external audiences. You will be a critical player to contribute and strengthen the product enablement and ramp as we scale our technology product roadmap. You will standardize content and design content hubs to improve scalability and productivity with the fusion of AI tools and authoring tools (CCMS and publication engines).

An engineer with excellent communication skills, problem solving capabilities and attention to detail. Ask clarifying questions to SMEs and is an active listener, great team player, agile with analytical and problem-solving skills. Quickly create documents from scratch and can pivot and manage multiple documentation priorities. Has a quality mindset with user-centric thinking and always writes with an end-user and usability perspective.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and maintain documentation for technical users, including architecture specs, datasheets, user guides, system administration, and deployment manuals.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to gather information and ensure accuracy.
- Ensure compliance with documentation standards, including DITA and XML-based authoring.
- Conduct quality assurance reviews of documentation for clarity, consistency, and usability.
- Act as a customer advocate, ensuring documentation meets user needs and improves product adoption.
- Stay current with emerging technologies (e.g., cloud, AI, UX).

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Working closely with engineers, product managers, and SMEs across global and cross functional teams.
- Structured Authoring: Proficiency with DITA XML and component content management systems (CCMS).
- Tools: Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, MadCap Flare, Inkscape, Microsoft Visio, Adobe Illustrator, and Confluence/Jira for collaboration.
- Content Strategy: Ability to design and implement documentation strategies that improve usability and findability.
- Understanding of x86 architecture, Rack/System design, or GPU architecture
- Deployment, functional safety and security knowledge for hardware products

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
- Bachelor/Master of Engineering in software and computers. Bachelors in Technical Communication, English, Journalism, or related fields.
- Advanced degrees or certifications in Technical Writing or Information Architecture are a plus.
