Job Purpose

The Analyst, Indirect Tax supports various functions within the Indirect Tax Group. ย The role will support indirect tax compliance, research, planning audits, systems and controversy. ย The position will report to the Manager of Indirect Tax and will provide support to the Indirect Tax Team. ย

Responsibilities
- Assist with indirect tax compliance including preparation and review of sales/use, GST, VAT, Telecommunication, annual reports, and property tax returns. ย Requires gathering, manipulating, and analyzing the data in preparation of the return. ย Facilitate communication between global team as part of monthly process.
- Assist with indirect tax inquiries and audits including data collection and analysis and investigating issues.
- Assist with Indirect tax system implementations including setup, testing, and issue resolution.
- Help develop solutions for indirect tax automation including technology tools and processes that can help create efficiencies in the process.
- Assist with the administration of OneSource (Sabrix), including monitoring of rate and tax law changes, setup of new products or services, exemption certificate maintenance, and monthly rate updates
- Research, investigate and respond to jurisdictional notices
- Research and interpret state tax statutes, regulations, tax law changes, ย as well as local tax ordinances to ensure that the company is compliant with indirect tax obligations.
- Assist with indirect tax GL account reconciliations ย tax calculations and related journal entries.
- Support indirect tax special projects as needed
- Develop in-depth knowledge of business operations and apply business knowledge in tax analysis.
- Assist with the development and documentation of process and procedures related to indirect tax.

Knowledge and Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience required, either in-house with U.S. multinational corporation or in public accounting
- Bachelorโs degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Excellent research and analytical skills with the ability to make recommendations to supervisor and follow-up as required
- Must be able to work in a fast pace environment with multiple due date obligations and changing priorities
- Must be proactive in communicating status of compliance process, due dates and planning for future filings
- Must be able to clearly convey tax explanations, recommendations, or alternatives regarding sales and use tax transactions to tax and non-tax personnel in both a verbal and written manner
- Must be able to work in a team environment and assist others.
- Strong knowledge of Excel required; knowledge of Alteryx is a plus
- Knowledge of or experience with Oracle and/or OneSource (Sabrix) is a plus
