Join Sanofi’s mRNA Center of Excellence (mRNA CoE) as a Co-op in the Data and Computational Science (DCS) department, supporting the CMC Data Science group. This role focuses on developing first-principle and machine learning (ML) models for unit operations such as Tangential Flow Filtration (TFF) and Chromatography in process development.
You’ll gain hands-on experience with mRNA technology and unit operations, while applying modeling techniques in a non-GMP laboratory setting. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge biopharmaceutical research and innovation

Main Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with your supervisor to develop first-principle and ML models for various unit operations, including TFF and Chromatography.
- Investigate the impact of process parameters on product quality attributes and quantify associated uncertainties.
- Design model-based Design of Experiments (DoE) for model structure selection and parameter optimization
About You
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in Biology, Chemical or Biochemical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2028
- Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
- Must be authorized to work in the US for the duration of the co-op
Preferred Qualifications:
- Foundational knowledge of mRNA technology.
- Experience with ML, first-principle, or hybrid dynamic modeling.
- Familiarity with mathematical and modeling tools such as Python (scikit-learn), Julia, MATLAB, PYOMO, or gPROMS.
