The Global Immunology Department in Sanofi, Vaccines R&D organization is seeking a highly motivated and organized Associate Scientist to join the Early Stage Immunology group.

This position will serve as an integral member of a research team responsible for performing experimental in vitro and clinical exploratory studies to assess the immunogenicity, reactogenicity, and mechanism of action of vaccine and drug candidates.

Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and exploit immunological methods for the analysis of vaccine candidates against neurological and infectious diseases under pre-clinical development. Build relationships and manage project-specific tasks across different groups as required by the project.
- Be responsible for laboratory testing examining the immunological attributes of the biological samples from humans and various animal species such as mice, and non-human primates. Get trained and subsequently apply hands-on expertise with cell-based neutralization assays using cell lines as well as possibly ELISA, MSD, Luminex and other binding assays. Perform titrations of viruses using cell lines as required.
- Has a strong hands-on commitment to laboratory research towards establishing best practices while promoting a safe working environment. Participate in laboratory upkeep as required.
- Be responsible for assembly of own laboratory data, preliminary analysis, and appropriate documentation through electronic laboratory notebooks. Actively participate in the project/group meetings through attendance, presentation of his/her own data and contributing to the discussion. May participate in the transfer of immunoassays into clinical immunology groups.

All work is performed in BioSafety Level 2+ (BSL2+) laboratory environment and will involve health and safety training to get clearance for entry to the laboratories.

About You
Basic Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled and pursuing a bachelorβs or master's degree in biology, biotechnology, immunology, virology or a related field at an accredited college or university with the expectation that you will complete your current degree by the Spring of 2027
- Must be enrolled in school the semester following your internship/co-op with Sanofi
- Must be able to relocate to the office location and work 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday, for the full duration of the co-op/internship
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the U.S. and not require sponsorship of an employment visa (e.g., H-1B or green card) at the time of application or in the future. Students currently on CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT usually require future sponsorship for long term employment and do not meet the requirements for this program unless eligible for an alternative long-term status that does not require company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of principles of binding assays (like ELISA) and serum antibody-based neutralization assays
- Strong organizational skills, willingness and ability to quickly adjust to a new environment and learn new laboratory techniques
- Ability to work independently (once trained) and in the team and plan your own workday
- Hands-on technical experience with sterile environment is a plus
- Understanding of safe lab practices and experience in working in BSL2 environment with infectious agents requirements is a plus
- Proficient English language written and verbal skills are required
