Key Responsibilities
In this role as a Data Center Engineer, you will be responsible for the on-site management of the hardware lifecycle of our IT infrastructure, which includes:
- Being part of the Operations team, whose primary responsibility is the maintenance and upkeep of the data center infrastructure.
- Your role includes installing and removing server racks, repairing various IT hardware and network components, and responding to emergencies affecting operations.
- Meeting customer service level agreements by resolving problems and being the first point of contact for hardware troubleshooting and technical issues.
- Performing on-call duties and participating in Data Center operations, managing scheduled maintenance and change management activities while monitoring the data center infrastructure.
- Participating in team meetings for metric analysis and discussing daily/weekly goals.
- Understanding and appropriately applying your knowledge of department policies and procedures, including safety and security.
- Contributing to documentation regarding technical issues through root cause analysis of operational problems and participating in process improvement initiatives relevant to the data center environment.
- More experienced engineers may assist in training less experienced team members.

A Day in the Life
- You will support the maintenance of Data Center infrastructure equipment (e.g., racks, servers, networking devices, hardware components, cables, etc.).
- You will follow a ticket-based system and perform routine operations on hardware and spare parts, including installing and removing server racks and fixing server hardware.
- You will participate in the Data Center operations, handle on-call duties, and manage scheduled maintenance and change management activities requiring monitoring of the data center infrastructure.
- You will demonstrate strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- You will engage in site management and maintain tidiness in operational areas.
- You will work in a rotating shift with other engineering teams. The standard shift is 10 hours with a one-hour break, working four days on and three days off. Your hours will be 8:00-18:00, 12:00-22:00, or 21:45-08:15.

Basic Qualifications
- One year of hands-on experience maintaining and servicing technical systems.
- Working knowledge of Linux/Windows systems, PC/server hardware, and basic networking.
- Ability to work non-standard hours, such as a 10-hour shift with a 1-hour break (four workdays and three days off; standard hours are 8:00-18:00, 12:00-22:00, 21:45-08:15).

Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with ticket management tracking, escalation procedures, and practical experience in data center facilities.
- Knowledge and understanding of maintenance windows and change management.
- Communication skills in both Japanese and English.
- Linux/networking certifications (RHCSA, CCNA, or equivalent) and scripting skills (Bash, Python, etc.).
- A bachelor's degree in a technical field or equivalent practical experience.
