At Amazon, we are always exploring new opportunities to shape our transportation business. As a Program Manager, as we accelerate Same Day deliveries, you’ll be an essential part of innovating and transforming our transportation processes. You’ll be taking the lead on the design and launch of new programs for our customers to ensure they have same day access to our speed sensitive selection (including groceries), receive their packages on time, at the highest speed, and lowest cost. You’ll also oversee programs that are already running and find ways to improve them. This is your opportunity to have a big impact on some of the most exciting new ideas that are shaping the future of Amazon. The role will span from managing or supporting operations and launch in a country to driving internal changes to maximize customer satisfaction.

Key job responsibilities

- Own carrier same day performance, from inbounding speed sensitive ASINs, to under the roof and on the road operations.

- Expand the service provided through same day. Work to include specialty products like non-sort, groceries and perishables, or hazmat.

- Use data to understand operational challenges and create continuous improvement initiatives

- Work with a variety of other Amazon departments to identify and leverage best practices

A day in the life

As a Program Manager, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and improving initiatives that ensure the smooth running of our operations. You’ll work closely with a range of Amazon colleagues to understand how they work, and what you and your teams can learn, as well as sharing your own expertise. Together, you’ll identify exciting new opportunities and will take the lead when it comes to designing their implementation. In parallel, you will be in direct contact and managing the performance of our external suppliers, driving improvement, but also helping us scale.

Basic Qualifications

- Experience in program or project management
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- Knowledge of Excel at an intermediate level (e.g., pivot tables & charts, multiple criteria lookups, nested logical/IF formulas, data cleansing, array formulas, etc.)
- Experience in defining and implementing process improvement initiatives using data and metrics

Preferred Qualifications

- Knowledge of Lean principles and DMAIC methodology
- Experience in MS Access and SQL
- Experience in requirement gathering and ability to write clear and detailed requirement document
