βGrind, polish, and figure various optical materials to specified tolerances based on manufacturing instructions.β―β―

* Grind, polish, and figure various optical materials to specified tolerances.β―β―β―
* Operate machines and conduct hand operations on optical surfaces.
* Take measurements on metrology systems such as interferometers, profilometers and microscopes Cleaning, handling, and packaging of precision optical components.β―β―
* Perform calculations, quality tests, measurements, and inspections.β―β―β―
* Read and interpret technical drawings and work instructions to aid in processing optical materials.
* Assist in maintaining productivity and efficiency.β―β―
* Comply with all environmental, health, and safety requirements.
* Clean machinery and maintain cleanliness of the work area Working Conditions: Lifting 30 lbs.

* Daily Standing 50% of shiftβ―β―
* Wearing protective gloves, glasses, and safety shoes; Exposure to Chemicals: Toluene, Acetone, Alcohol, and OMS
* Exposure to materials: Aluminum, Nickel, Zinc Sulfide, Zinc Selenide, Germanium, Indium arsenide and Silicon Polymers.β―β―β―

* High School diploma or equivalent
* Two-year technical degree preferable.

* 1 to 3 years optics or polishing experience
* Blueprint and technical specification knowledge
* Ability to see and evaluate optical surfaces.
* Demonstrated computer and mathematics skills.
