Since 2004, Lazard's Benelux team, based in Brussels and Amsterdam, has been providing Financial Advisory services for Benelux companies, combining its deeply rooted local relationships with the global Lazard network. The team has advised on many landmark cross-border and domestic transactions in recent years.

Lazard is seeking to recruit an Associate to join the team in Brussels to support the day-to-day execution of transactions and marketing efforts by working closely with the team whilst liaising with bankers across the Lazard Financial Advisory network.

We’ll trust you to:

• Conduct detailed industry and market analysis and the valuation of companies using different financial valuation methodologies as well as the performance of general financial analysis;

• Manage and apply judgement in the execution of transactions and the provision of advice to clients

• Identify opportunities and situations for discussion with clients, and to consult with senior bankers on initial ideas for client presentations;

• Take the lead in preparing client presentations while guiding and supporting analysts;

• Take responsibility for the accuracy of all financial analysis and presentations;

• Prepare transaction documentation with minimal supervision;

• Work with senior bankers running a transaction on a day-to-day basis;

• Coordinate with clients and advisors to ensure the progress of key work-streams

You’ll need to have:  

• Proven track record (3+ years of experience in Investment Banking Corporate Finance, M&A Advisory, other relevant experience)

• First class experience of financial modeling and analysis, valuation techniques, presentation preparation and due diligence

• Ability to take increasing levels of responsibility with respect to deal execution and team management

• Excellent interpersonal skills and have proven team working ability

• A deep understanding of internal procedures within a transaction

• Analytical and quantitative skills with high commercial awareness

• Result oriented mindset with a focus on details

• Fluent in Dutch/French and English
