Job Description:
Airbus Helicopters is looking for a Long-term Intern to join our Supply Chain Quality Department based in Columbus, MSt.
You will be integrated in the Supply Chain Quality team, providin
g support to the Supply Chain Quality Management (SCQM) team. This role will support the internal Supply Chain and Quality teams with supplier and quality topics related to the Final Assembly Line (FAL) and New Helicopters Completions (NHC) as well as the Helicopter Repair Station in Mississippi. Supporting supplier surveillance and assessment activities, helping on the follow-up of supplier actions, preparing Key Performance Indicator (KPI) reports, and learning about the surveillance of design suppliers. This position offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in the heavily regulated aerospace environment while actively contributing to process improvement and performance monitoring.
Your Challenges:
Assist in the Supply Chain Quality activities in Airbus Helicopters Inc: 60%
- Assist and provide support to each SCQM for portfolio management
- Assist the on the follow up of the annual surveillance
- Support with supplier information update in SAP and in Airbus audit tool
- Support the SCQM with the supplier’s assessment
- Perform the follow up of corrective actions until their closure
- Work as part of AHNA team with frequent communication to Grand Prairie/Mississippi
- Learn about the internal Supply Chain and Quality teams with supplier and quality topics related to the Final Assembly Line (FAL), New Helicopters Completions (NHC) and the Repair Activity in Mississippi.
Support the development and monitoring of Key Performance Indicators: 15%
- Monitor SCQM critical actions due dates on weekly basis
- Support with creation and maintenance of performance metrics
- Prepare performance reports
- Assist the team with solution to simplify and improve the process
Assist in Continuous Improvement: 15%
- Support SCQM team on Improvement Projects
Work on discretion of the supervisor: 10%
- Ensure timely implementation of tasks assigned by the management

Required:
- Must be currently local to the Columbus, MS area as this is a long-term, onsite internship opportunity
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Engineering, Supply Chain, or related course of study program
- Able to read drawings, material specifications, understand process parameters and have a basic comprehension of technical non conformities.
- Able to work in the US without a current or future need for visa sponsorship

- Vision: able to see and read computer screens and other electronic equipment with screens, able to read documents, reports and engineering drawings for several hours per day
- Hearing: able to participate in conversations in person and via teleconference or phone and to hear sounds on the production floor including safety warnings or alarms throughout each work day
- Speaking: able to speak in conversations and meetings, deliver information and participate in communications daily
- Equipment Operation: able to operate most office and personal electronic equipment daily.
- Carrying: able to carry documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
- Lifting: able to lift documents, tools, drawings, electronic equipment up to 10lbs daily
- Pushing / Pulling: able to push and pull small office furniture occasionally
- Sitting: able to sit for long periods of time in meetings, working on the computer daily
- Squatting / Kneeling: able to squat or kneel to retrieve or replace items stored on low shelving occasionally
- Standing: able to stand for discussions in offices or on the production floor as needed
- Travel: able to travel independently and at short notice is not anticipated
- Walking: able to walk through office and production areas including uneven surfaces daily
- PPE required: Steel-toed shoes are required for all shop floor visits; appropriate hearing/eye protection may also be required when visiting the shop floor.
