SCOPE OF THE ROLE AND BASIC PURPOSE

‍

β–ͺ The Lab Analyst will be responsible for general laboratory support as well as routine compendia (or equivalent) testing. After training, the Lab Analyst will perform routine testing in compliance with laboratory test methods and procedures to support the manufacturing, R&D, etc.

β–ͺ The Lab Analyst must be able to communicate orally and in writing.

The Lab Analyst is expected to apply standard practices and techniques in specific situations, recognize discrepancies in results, and follow operations through a series of detailed steps and processes.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

1. 80% - Quality Lab

2. 10% - Operations, engineering, facility, maintenance, and purchasing, etc.

3. 10% - Contract Lab

ACCOUNTABILITIES/KEY MEASURESβ–ͺ

Sampling

Preparation of sample labelsβ–ͺ

Sample preparation, including weighing, extractions, pH measurements, etc.

β–ͺ Preparation of reagents (media)

β–ͺ Logging in samples into a LIMS or manual system, which would include logbooks and the maintenance of control numbers.

β–ͺ Performing and monitoring routine compendia testing

β–ͺ Making and recording observations and calculations.

β–ͺ Familiar with the use of laboratory instrumentation such as HPLC, GC, FTIR, etc.

β–ͺ Collecting and preparing data for evaluation.

β–ͺ Archiving documentation on completed testing.

β–ͺ Performing other related duties as assigned by management.β–ͺ Maintaining a clean work area.

β–ͺ Supporting laboratory housekeeping, environmental, and safety initiatives.
