As a Gas Power Aeroderivatives intern you will an active contributor in a fast paced, customer focused internship working with cross-functional teams such as product management, product champions, engineering, and marketing. Β We are using Lean methodology to streamline our commercial bidding processes for world leading Aeroderivative gas turbine packages.

What You Will Do:
The selected candidate can expect to be assigned to one of the project assignments below:
- Plant ITR Electrical Engineer: Familiarize yourself with the Aeroderivative gas turbine technology/product line. - Learn basics of Power Generation & power plant concepts, including Balance of plant equipment & systems, boundaries and terminal points, different configurations. - Understand Plant electrical design concepts, balance of plant equipment, Single line diagram, Protection scheme, Power system studies, equipment sizing. - Support and contribute to development of at least one extended scope proposals. - Support and contribute to execution of at least one project involving electrical balance of plant. - Identify opportunities for optimization/simplifications of tools and processes and develop/update standard works to reduce the waste and improve productivity. Aeroderivative gas turbines (Aero) is a division of Gas Power that specializes in flexible power generation to support the rapidly changing global grid with applications such as firming of renewable energy. A plant ITR engineer performs as both application engineer and project engineer. The Applications Engineering role is a techno-commercial role that finds the best application of plant systems & configuration to solve customer challenges. In project engineering role, you need to support the on-time delivery of as -sold plant/solution to end customer at the highest quality and within the assigned budget.
- Aero Engineering: Gain experience in the development process of electrical system design for gas turbine products. - Participate in electrical design reviews & coordinate milestones & action items to closure. Interpret Single Line Diagrams & schematics for AC/DC power distribution, instrument & control systems. Improve design layouts in AutoCAD/ePLAN for Gas Turbine Generator products configurations. Coordinate solutions with cross-functional teams (Product Services, Project Execution, Controls, Performance & Application Engineers)
- Aero Equipment ITR Electrical Project Engineer : Work with Applications Engineers to help customers and develop technical proposals for Aero Equipment scope for the Aero business Attend Opportunity & Project meetings to provide technical support for: Engineering Risk Review Meeting (ERRM), Engineering Release, Hand Over Meeting (HOM), Customer Kick-Off Meeting (CKOM), Product Service Engineering (PSE) Handover, Customer Meetings etc. Work with Configuration team to create Bill of Material (BOM) from product Variant Configuration Central (VCC), perform accuracy review and provide approvals.

What You'll Bring (Basic Qualifications):
- Minimum 3.0 GPA (without rounding)
- Working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in a technical field of study in Electrical Engineering
- Enrolled in a full time matriculated and nationally accredited baccalaureate or graduate program
- Must have the ability to work in the United States for an unlimited amount of time without sponsorship

The pay for this position ranges from $21.00/hr - $34.00/hr based on years of undergraduate/graduate field of study completed
This position is also eligible for:
- Relocation Assistance: Co-op/Interns will be reimbursed for reasonable, proper, and documented expenditures incurred while initially reporting to work and returning to school/home upon completion of the assignment. Employees with a permanent address greater than 50 miles away from the work location are eligible.
