Scope of Position
Summer Mechanical engineering intern position to support the manufacturing and engineering of world-class, high-quality glass products. This is a dynamic position for an individual to work as part of Corning-Cantonβs division engineering team. Focus areas include performing research and entry-level process work. Design and development include areas such as: process improvment, experimentation, data analysis, thermodynamic/heat transfer, product quality, measurements, and use of energy. This position involves work on factory floor with key plant personnel to plan, design, and test manufacturing processes.

Requirements
- Pursuing a degree in Material Science, Ceramics Engineering, or Chemical Engineering.
- Must be available for 10 weeks during Summer 2025 (May-August 2026) with a graduation date of December 2026 or later.
- Be interested in working for Corning, Inc after graduation, if presented with a full-time job opportunity.
- Be willing to work at the posted job location.

Desired Skills
- Coursework in material science, ceramics engineering, or chemical engineering.
- Experience using 3D CAD software.
- Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- Working knowledge of engineering tools such SolidWorks, AutoCAD, and MS Office.
