AECOM is hosting an exclusive, invitation-only hiring event in Raleigh on January 28-29, 2026 . This is a great opportunity to learn and connect with AECOM for career opportunities starting Spring/Summer 2026.
The event kicks off on Wednesday evening with a networking mixer from 6-8 pm , where you can hear from AECOM staff about various projects, career paths, and the company itself. Youβll also have the chance to meet other students, recent graduates, and AECOM professionals from across our business lines.
On Thursday, interviews will take place at our Raleigh office. This is a fantastic opportunity to learn about and connect with AECOM for early career opportunities.
AECOM is actively seeking a highly motivatedEngineering Internto be based in our Raleigh, North Carolina office. This position will support our Civil and Geotechnical Remediation team within our Environment business line.
This position is expected to begin Summer 2026.
The Engineering Intern will support our Remediation team in both the field and office. We are seeking motivated candidate who would like to develop and advance in a full-time environmental remediation career. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, reliable and have good interpersonal communication skills.

Job Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:
- Prepares the planning and design documents for civil and environmental engineering projects under supervision of a professional engineer, project manager or senior-level team member using engineering design software and equipment
- Effectively uses reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, tests, and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and topographical and geologic data to plan and design projects
- Coordinates and performs field inspection services, as needed
- Writes and/or reviews draft reports, including erosion and sediment control narratives, stormwater management reports, and technical specifications
- Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule with little supervision
- Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.
- Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.
- Intern III β completion of third year of qualified study.

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelorβs Degree program for Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering.
- Must have completed three (3) years of study in relevant degree program

Preferred Qualifications:
- Ability to travel and perform fieldwork as needed.
- Collect and evaluate environmental data in field and office settings.
- Experience carrying out fieldwork (water and soil sampling) is considered an asset.
- Strong writing and presentation abilities.
- Strong problem-solving skills and familiarity with computer applications (e.g., word processing, spreadsheet, database, and presentation applications).
