AECOM is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join our team here at the Burnaby, BC office!
This position will start in May 2026.
8-month term candidates are preferred. However, we are open to considering exceptional candidates who can commit to a 4-month term, with the possibility of extending the contract based on performance and project needs.

Job responsibilities Include but not limited to:
- Support design and specification development for electrical power and distribution systems, lighting and low voltage.
- Support design and specification of process control devices for various processes including water/wastewater treatment and industrial applications.
- Assist in the design team achieving engineering deliverables (e.g., drawings, specifications, analysis)
- Comply with applicable regulations, standards, corporate procedures and sound engineering practices.
- Work closely with and under the supervision of engineers from the EIC (Electrical, Instrumentation & Controls) Design team
- Work with other disciplines as an integrated multi-disciplinary project delivery team
- Provide design and contract document production support as required.
- Perform assignments requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria to carry out engineering tasks.
- Prepare engineering related calculations and develop drawings and visual aids
- Research and apply electrical/building code, regulatory and industry code requirements
- Prepare electrical design calculations/reports, utilize electrical design software
- Work and be familiar with AECOM's project CADD and design standards, including capability of learning and adopting clients' standard and requirements upon request

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
- Currently in pursuit of a Bachelorβs degree in Electrical Engineering
- Must have completed two years of study in the relevant field

Preferred Requirements
- Basic knowledge of industry standard computer software for the position (examples include software such as AutoCAD, Revit).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Capable of using spreadsheet, word processing and standard PC based office software
- Exposure to electrical power system and or instrumentation, automation.
- Exposure to construction industry.
- Industrial co-op job experience.
- Exposure to the Canadian Electrical Code, IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) or any application code.
