Detection and Response at Robinhood swiftly identifies and effectively mitigates cyber threats through intelligent automation and data-driven analysis, safeguarding customers, assets, and critical business functions.

As Security Engineer, Detection & Response, you will research threats, conduct threat hunts, develop detections and create automations that accelerate and standardize day-to-day operations.

This role is based in our Bellevue office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

• You identify and mitigate cyber threats through automation and data-driven analysis, protecting customers, assets, and critical business functions.
• You apply a “Safety Always” mindset and first-principles thinking to deliver high-performance outcomes.
• You research threats, conduct hunts, develop detections, and build automations to accelerate and standardize operations.

What you bring

• Currently enrolled in a full-time, degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date in Winter 2026/Spring 2027.
• Coursework in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Data Science, and/or Artificial Intelligence
• Prior project work and exposure to Linux, macOS, Kubernetes, Cloud (AWS, GCP, Azure), Go & Python
• A lifelong learner mindset: You actively seek out new knowledge, adapt quickly to emerging technologies and threats, and continuously refine your skills to stay ahead in a fast-moving security landscape.
• Strong agency: You take ownership, drive initiatives forward without waiting for direction, and bring clarity and momentum to ambiguous or complex situations.
